Reportedly the best fish & chip shop in the country, Aldeburgh Fish & Chip Shop is a 50-year-old, family-run establishment situated on Aldeburgh's pretty high street and just a stone's throw from the beach. Serving freshly caught fish and made from locally grown potatoes, chips and all the extras you would expect such as mushy peas, scraps and cod roe, it's ideally situated should you find yourself in need of lunch during a day at the beach, or for supper after a walk along the water's edge.
Aldeburgh Fish & Chip Shop is takeaway only, but if you would like to dine in, their sister restaurant The Upper Deck is just a short walk further along the High Street.
2. Little Fish & Chip Shop, Southwold

With views of the sea from the front door, you won't mind queuing up outside the Little Fish & Chip Shop in Southwold. With daily deliveries of freshly caught fish and a sea breeze to accompany you can practically taste the sea salt! Opt to sit in in the small seated area or walk towards to sea and along Southwold's famous beach-hut lined prom.

Unlike many fish and chip shops, all the food is cooked fresh to order so there may be a short wait, but you can make the most of your time and watch the boats bob on the water. Fish is served in a light crispy batter accompanied by delicious crispy chips.
This shop closes for some of the winter months and frying times can be limited but you can find times listed on their Facebook page.
7. Pakefield Plaice
