It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but the Christmas build-up can also be the most chaotic. That’s why we’ve put together our guide of festive workshops, where you can let the stress of the season melt away and focus on enjoying something more mindful.
Choose from crafty activities like willow weaving, wreath making, paper crafting or candle arranging; or take a cookery class to master a new recipe in time for the big day.
And if that’s all a little too hands on, then a festive gin tasting experience might be just the tonic to ease you into the holiday spirit!

Festive Wreath Making at Retreat East
The wreath is a quintessential symbol of Christmas, with a history dating back to the 16th century when our ancestors would hang evergreens on the door in a wreath as a way to symbolise the everlasting love of God and as a warm welcome to the spirit of Christmas to enter the home.
Why not turn your hand to the ancient art of wreath-making and enjoy a little mindfulness before the chaos of the season begins. Retreat East is a beautiful setting in the idyllic Suffolk countryside of Hemingstone, with atmospheric barns and cosy vibes all around.
The workshop is guided by the Suffolk Florist who will lend you their expertise in creating a bespoke Christmas wreath using locally sourced foliage. Weave, braid and arrange wonderful winter evergreens and adorn with berries, fircones, seed-pods and dried orange slices until you’ve created something uniquely yours.
Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival and afterwards relax with a delicious festive afternoon tea in The Great Barn. £90 per person includes all materials and refreshments on arrival and afterwards. Workshops take place on 4th and 8th December so gather your friends and enjoy!
