Valley Farm

The leisure-riding centre Valley Farm situated near Wickham Market attracts hundreds of members and visitors all year round year.

In particular the centre is known for the breeding of Camargue horses. In 1993 the centre celebrated the first birth of the Camargue foals in the UK and at present Valley Farm is home to Great Britain’s only Camargue stud. Visitors to the centre are permitted to view and even ride this lesser-known breed, originally from France.

Valley Farm also stays true to its Suffolk roots by offering visitors the opportunity to see heavy horses which were once the backbone of Suffolk’s agricultural systems. A one-hour experience can be booked, which allows guests to walk behind these horses as they pull traditional farm machinery.

Charlotte Ling, riding instructor at Valley Farm, says; ‘This is the fun place for everything equestrian! You can learn lots of new horsey skills: horseball, vaulting, carriage driving, western and much more. We’re passionate about horses and love what we do’. The summer pony camp offered by Valley Farm each August has gone from strength to strength with places each year in high demand.

Also on site are Camelot the camel, Muffin the Mule and Fudge the llama for guests to visit and pet. This unique riding centre with the famous foals and wide range of activities has much to offer to both visitors and residents of the Suffolk area.
